Definition

How can software support Ofsted preparation for apprenticeship providers?

Software can help a provider organise its own self-assessment, safeguarding and quality records for internal review. Journey does not reproduce an inspection methodology, determine which evidence an inspector will accept, give a grade, or provide Ofsted approval or assurance.

How does Journey support Ofsted preparation?

Journey helps authorised provider teams organise self-assessment, safeguarding and quality evidence from their delivery records for internal review. It does not reproduce an inspector's methodology or judgement, determine a grade, establish conformity with an inspection framework, or create Ofsted approval. Journey is independent software and is not DfE or Ofsted approved. It does not guarantee funding or inspection outcomes.

Organised evidence

Keep self-assessment, safeguarding and quality evidence organised and distinguishable for authorised provider review.

Self-assessment (SAR)

Provider teams can maintain self-assessment records and structured learner reviews as internal working records.

Safeguarding & wellbeing

Safeguarding, wellbeing, inclusion and reasonable adjustments are first-class, gated to the roles that need them.

Single Central Record

Staff-vetting and central-record workflows can be maintained as provider-controlled records; providers remain responsible for their content and use.

Use official inspection guidance alongside your own review

Ofsted publishes the further education and skills inspection toolkit, operating guides and inspection information for providers and inspectors. Providers should use the official publications to understand the guidance applicable to their setting and inspection date.

Journey helps provider teams organise relevant internal evidence. It does not decide which evidence Ofsted will accept, what guidance applies to a particular provider, or what grade an inspector will give.

Quality evidence organised from delivery records

Journey lets authorised provider teams maintain self-assessment, safeguarding, wellbeing, inclusion and reasonable-adjustment records alongside delivery data. Access is role-scoped, and provider teams remain responsible for the completeness, accuracy and use of their records.

Relevant quality-evidence workflows may form part of a Journey Advanced evaluation. Scope, implementation responsibilities and commercial terms are confirmed in writing during evaluation.

Official sources and product boundary

This page links to Ofsted's published further-education and skills inspection toolkit, operating guides and provider information. Those publications can change and are the source a provider should use for its own assessment. Journey is independent software that helps providers organise their own evidence; it is not Ofsted approved, does not establish conformity with an inspection framework, and does not guarantee inspection outcomes.

Have an Ofsted-related requirement outside apprenticeship delivery?

Journey's published product scope is apprenticeship delivery. Tell us about your setting and requirement, and the Journey team will confirm whether Journey is appropriate or whether a separately scoped consultation may be possible. This is not an Ofsted approval or inspection-outcome service.
